On June 26, 2013 Crossroads Canada walkers passed through Brandon, Manitoba on their way to Ottawa for the August 10 pro-life rally taking place at Parliament Hill. The Crossroad walkers are completing a three month trek across Canada, from Vancouver to Ottawa, to raise awareness about the pro-life movement. Crossroads was founded by Steve Sanborn, a university student from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio in 1995. Today, Crossroads has grown internationally, with four walks in America, one in Spain, Australia, Ireland, and Canada.

The Crossroads Canada walkers average 25 kilometers per person per day; on their best day they traversed 85 kilometers. They start walking as early as possible and stop around sunset, the participants wear neon colored shirts, for added visibility, simply stating “Pro-life”. This year’s team was made of up of seven people from all over Canada and even one America. It was inspiring to meet people bearing such a strong witness to the pro-life movement! I wish them a safe trip and praise them for their dedication to the Culture of Life.
